I‘m not sure if Molly’s is still in existence or not, this sketch was done years ago as part of my disappearing corner stores and cafes. At Second and Columbia in Vancouver it was one of those places where all coffee was brewed and Nabob was king. The only choice you had was to have it or not. Sandwiches were on white bread except for some of the more adventurous who could offer 60% whole wheat.

Flood Watch

Fraser River Flood watch


The spring of 2007 promised high water with predicted flooding along the Fraser River in B.C. A farmer whose land was particularly vulnerable used his humor to deal with the impending disaster, producing this wonderful and well equipped character.

Now, a couple of seasons later he is still on duty but looking a little “worse for the wear”. Slumped and bored he just won’t stop, move over energizer bunny!
